Cocaine Dipstrip Drug Urine Test is designed as an easy and simple, one step fast immunochomatographic evaluation for qualitative and rapid detection of COC and mainly benzoylecgonine metabolites in the urine. The designated cutoff level of the test is 300ng/ml of COC, which is equal to the suggested SAMHSA evaluation cutoff.
Cocaine gets absorbed by intravenous, smoking, oral or intranasal administration and discharged in urine mainly as benzoylecgonine, within a short span of time. Benzoylecgonine constitutes of long biological half-life, spanning from 5-8 hours of time as compared to Cocaine, which has ˝ an hour to 1˝ hours of life. Cocaine is normally detectable between 24 to 80 hours, following the cocaine exposure or use.
The Cocaine Dipstrip Drug Urine Test is grounded on the rule of highly precise immunochemical reactions among antibodies and antigens, which are employed for the examination of precise substances in organic fluids. The test sensitiveness stands on detecting COC of 300ng/ml.
Usage Suggestions:
1. Take out the test strip from the foil pouch
2. Grip the strip in a vertical position and cautiously dip the strip into the specimen. Remember not to dip the strip past the highest line.
3. Examine the results of test between 3 to 5 mins.
Results Interpretation:
1. As soon as, the test kit starts functioning, a color band will be seen to the left section from the result window. This appearance shows that test is working in a proper manner. This band is referred as Control Band.
2. The result window’s right section signals the results of the test. If an additional color band is seen next to the right section of result window, that band is referred as a Test Band.
The results interpretation can be negative, positive and invalid.
1. Negative Indicator: If two color bands are seen inside the result window, it is a clear indication of negative result of the test. It states that, no COC is detected which is beyond the cutoff level. The test band color might vary in shade, either darker or lighter as compared to control band.
2. Positive Indicator: If one color band is seen inside the result window, it is a clear indication that the test result is positive. It states that, specimen includes COC with a concentration greater than the cutoff level.
3. Invalid: If no color band is formed in the result window’s left section then, the result stands invalid. A distinctive color band needs to appear always in left section result window.
Remember:
A faint band, if visible in the result window’s right section within 5 mins, is an indicator that COC amount in urine sample is close to or less than the cutoff level of test. The specimen of urine needs to be confirmed or retested, by using more precise alternative technique such as mass spectrometry or gas chromatography, prior to the determination of positive result is made. |
